COHEMA’s productions and sets, always rhythmic and playful, are characterized by a great musical versatility and the conjunction of different genres and styles, without ever taking a step backwards-as far as rhythm is concerned. In other words, COHEMA equals freedom. A freedom always rhythmic, that does not allow to anticipate its changes, submerging you, when you least expect it, in deep atmospheres where the dynamic drums of the TR8 will become the only and joyful salvation. The 44th issue of Savia Park presents COHEMA with four fundamental pieces. Forever Sound, an organic mix of TR8 and the VST U-he Diva, pleases us with a deep intro that rises through a break beat to become a house track where we yearn for the continuous bass drum. Up Front is a mix of break with ambient and house melodies and vocals, synthesized in a rhythmic 4/4. On the other hand, 234, is a piece whose main intention is to dance. A piece of cult and Club, makes us perceive its bass as something organic and stellar, without limits, accompanied by delicious breaks, to continue the night, and if we have to stop, it will only be for a brief moment. Reality, the piece that gives its name to the EP, has long and suggestive vocals, in which bass and ambient get mixed at the same level, to generate a psycho-acoustic sensation worthy of the eighties. "Alma y Vida"

Dierot

Release date: 2022-07-01

Catalog: 042

David Borja aka Dierot, pioneering producer of a new techno sound. Decode Music, his record label founded in 2018, has released numerous records and opened the door to new young talents in Ecuador, becoming the source of a new techno generation. His sound is unmistakable, charged in its atmosphere and heavy in its bass, with the characteristic squelching of the Roland TB 303. He has shared the stage with important international and national artists. In 2021 he released his first solo album called ‘Janina Joyride’. Now, Savia Park release number 42 presents a duality that contains the world in Dierot last EP. ‘Alma & Vida’, Dierot’s EP on Savia Park, addresses a duality. The two tracks represent the reverse and obverse of human existence: the ethereal world of ideas, governed by the mind, the imagination and the soul, and the material world, governed by the laws of nature. ‘Alma’ represents an intangible and Platonic world, where the variation of textures becomes the fundamental concept of the track. On the other side,’Vida’ represents the physical world and the domain of Nature. Dierot’s work is different here, using instruments such as the Roland TR-909 and a faster tempo. Nonetheless, Both ‘Vida’ and ‘Alma’ are produced on the Roland TB 303, which is Dierot’s favourite machine for basslines. This artist invites us to embark on and enjoy a journey of sound art, to contemplate and reflect on the dualism of the human world.

The conclusion is, of course, quite forceful, with a solid bass line and 909 percussions, which are mixed with the artillery of acid synths and Deep House grooves. The Underground is a revision of Tech House, which is a hypnotic trip for lovers of pieces that transport us to a world of non-stop dancing. The last piece is Waves of Life, which gives title to the EP, a sublime piece for the mind, spirit and body.
