Savia Park returns after a period of development with his release number 40. ‘Historias’ by Melissa Santa María. She grew up surrounded by music. Her father is the celebrated Argentine guitarist Carlos Santa María, from whom she inherited her passion for music and the constancy of the craft. Since a very young age she took piano and guitar lessons. In 2009 she experimented with electronic sounds and that consolidated her musical universe. Full of passion and perseverance, she has shared the stage with world-class artists. Her sound contains the main paths of house and techno, with deep, tech, disco and minimal variants. As a Dj, it is important to highlight her versatility due to her wide musical knowledge, which allows her to conquer all kinds of audiences, the date of his release and late debut should not be confused with his long career in music, and on the dancefloor. That is why Savia Park’s release number 40, has the honor to present the label’s monarch, Melissa Santa María, with her debut EP: ‘Historias’. An emotional and intriguing EP, inspired by one of the artist’s favorite books: ‘Tokyo ya no nos quiere’ by Ray Loriga. The EP invites you to dance and discover, moment by moment, the next resolution of her deep/tech/house mix, producing a piece that builds on the dancefloor, developing its full potential through progressive succession, as happens in the book.

"Life Is A Movie"

Caribbean

Release date: 2021-06-25

Catalog: 039

Life is a Movie, a story of (dis) love! Have you ever fallen in love? But I am not talking about an ordinary love, NO! I mean a blind love, at that level that you give yourself completely, you give everything of yourself, with a lot of faith and hope, and you begin to feel alive, you begin to see life in another color, you begin to feel complete and to think that you have found the right person in your life. And then all of a sudden, what was rosy, starts to turn gray, what made you happy, starts to hurt you, the orgasms that you had, and that you loved, begin to turn into fights (which in the end end in more orgasms, and if you are toxic, you start to like them even more), which made you feel alive, begins to cloud your thinking, and negativity begins to invade you, a negativity that only exists in your mind, and everything seems not have exit. But, even so, knowing all this, you would give everything to stay one more minute with that person, just one second, knowing that perhaps it is the last second you share together, but you don’t care, because you say you love that person, and you cling to who you consider the love of your life and the ideal of true love. And well, in short, this is what led Caribbean to produce this great EP, which I call Life is a Movie, which he has been working on for the last two years, and tells us a love story, which wanted to summarize in several songs (this EP contains 3 songs + 2 remixes, but there are many more to come), to capture their experiences, experiences and feelings, and be able to transmit a message to the world, a real and sincere message, and the message is the following: LOVE IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE! Among the experiences that he wanted to capture in his music, Caribbean told us that the first time he was going to play at a Storyland Festival (one of the most important festivals in his country, Colombia) and he went with his old love to a Magical city of Colombia called Santa Marta. After playing, the two ravers stayed at the festival, which was attended by thousands of people, and danced together, laughed, argued, made up, and were surrounded by many characters (or figures) they had just met, from those that one always finds in festivals, since that is the power of music, it connects us! And among those characters, there was a group that was disguised as a tribe of Indians, and every time the song (drop) exploded, the tribe began to scream like Indians (the same scream that I use in Taganga), and it was completely magical! After there, he tells us that they went to Taganga (which Caribbean called its LOVE PLACE), which is a small town near Santa Marta, because that night he was also going to play there, at the Mirador, a place with an incredible view next to The Bay and it was the perfect complement to a night! When Caribbean came back to Barranquilla, re-inspired, he went straight to the studio with many new ideas. And of course, the voices of the Indians stayed in his head, and he wanted them for his new song, which still had no name, and in one of those moments of inspiration, PUF, he himself recorded the Indian voices that They appear in the TAGANGA song (guess where the song’s name comes from). It was months later, when Caribbean finished the other tracks ‘Life is a Moovie’ and ‘The sonata’, when he contacted his colleagues and friends, the progressive cracks in Colombia, Alex Bessofen, resident of Octava Club Bogota, and leader of Growing up, which today is in the TOP HYPE of beatport, thanks to its characteristic progressive sound, and with Emilio Coll, a Colombian DJ and producer with a long history in his country, Colombia, who is breaking it with his productions, which positioned on the radar of the eyes of the whole world! This EP is candela! This is the story of the EP LIFE IS A MOVIE, which will be released by our Ecuadorian label SAVIA PARK, on June 11, 2021. It will be released on all digital platforms! Likewise, all the songs have their why, and a story behind it, a beautiful love story, Caribbean tells us. This leaves us with a great lesson: the most painful situations are those that transform us and make us a better person, and in his case, as an artist, they allow him to capture musical works like these, which we hope everyone will enjoy.

We decided to ask from friends of the label to remix ‘Dança’ and give us their take on the original. First up Seattle based Lee Houser aka Jon Lee and Simon Houser made a laid back groove with with a throbbing swing and hypnotizing pads. They wanted to embody the burning man vibes of Lu and Kazbah while making something that can satisfy any dance floor. Label boss Slurm and label regular Ekcesive Groove bring us another remix of ‘Dança’ which is a much more upbeat tech house driver that has a steady techno hi hat fell along with a twisted synth leading the way to the frenzy. Scattered percussion make this version feel like its going somewhere with authority. Nasty acid pushes this one to another level. The third remix and last song from the EP is from San Francisco based Chuwee, who creates a laid back deeper analog heavy remix, for a chill yet moody vibe that would be perfect for sunrise or any other occasion. This remix is a perfect compliment to the original and other remixes, and gives the release a clean and polished feel. Enjoy this varied ep where you can choose where you want to go!
